Common Stones A to E

This is just a basic understanding of some of the more common stones and their properties.

Amethyst
  
This is a great stone to use if you are trying to increase your psychic abilities and enhance you intuition. As it is also of stone of wisdom it allows the information received to be used appropriately.

Amethyst is said to aid in bringing serenity, calming ones mind and gaining inner peace. Amethyst is an excellent stone for meditation and for opening the third eye.  It increases your ability to open to new ideas and help open the channels to your higher self. For this reasons many suggest amethyst for those seeking spiritual growth.

It is known for the ability to ward off negative energies and to attract positive ones. It has been said to protect against manipulative situations by helping to provide a more in depth perspective and opening the spirit’s eye to higher connectivity with that outside of concrete reason.

It is commonly used to relieve headaches, sugar imbalances and general edginess.

 
Ametrine

Ametrine is an extremely energetic stone and stimulates creativity and supports taking control of one’s own life.  Mentally, Ametrine strengthens concentration and aids thinking things through. Emotionally, Ametrine releases blockages including negative emotional programming, promoting optimism and well-being. 

Ametrine is a mixture of Amethyst and Citrine Quartz. It carries the properties of both Citrine and Amethyst. Ametrine works quickly in all areas: the Amethyst raising the clearing quality and Citrine to a higher level of vibration, while expanding the extent of the energy.

Ametrine is useful at the Astral level to raise the consciousness and to allow one to attune to the gift of flight. It helps one to enter the state of astral travel, providing protection and awareness of the differences between the physical realm and the astral world.

 
Black Tourmaline

The Black Tourmaline works like a lightning conductor against all negative energies. They are unique protective stones for the body and the soul.  Even black magic can be repelled by this stone. Furthermore, it helps to neutralize our own negativity.
Black Tourmaline exerts a cleansing and liberating energy upon the nervous system.  They are true carriers of light and can assist with taking us to higher levels of consciousness.  In meditation, black tourmaline helps to maintain stronger concentration.  Black tourmaline is the number choice for grounding.  Psychic investigators and people working in Paranormal realms often use this stone for protection against lingering spirits.

 

 
Bloodstone

Traditionally bloodstone is told to have the power of prediction future events, by causing meteorological extremes which are meant to announce the forthcoming event.  It is told that its power may be enhanced by placing it in water and putting that water into direct sunlight. It is said to help with calming, particularly in survival situations. It brings mystical energies of increasing adaptability and organization and lessening confusion and anxiety. 

 By assisting us in reducing conflict, it helps to free much emotional energy that is otherwise tied up in tension and uncertainty. Thus it helps to reduce physical and mental stress and assists in renewing the physical, mental and emotional bodies.

Because one’s energy becomes free to explore the unknown and take on new challenges, bloodstone is also called “The Stone of Courage.” Spiritually, it is also believed to help remove obstacles from one’s path and restore love and integrity to relationships.

 
Calcite

Calcite comes in many colors, forms and locations. It is a crystal of fantastic variety and each one has its own benefits. Calcite is a crystal to help one get out of ruts or break through blockages on just about any level.

Calcite in general will amplify and increase energy.  It is protecting, purifying, grounding and centering.  It will assist in bringing one inner peace.

Calcite is a stone that will gently amplify energy. It also assists in the challenges associated with change.  It enhances psychic abilities, astral projection and higher consciousness.

 

 
Carnelian

Carnelian is frequently known as a stone of great spirituality. It was one of the most treasured stones of both the Greeks and Romans, who used it in signet rings and carvings.

It has been said to be a healing gem with a wondrous capacity for mental and physical healing properties. Carnelian can assist in getting the mind out of mental ruts and back on track for success. It bolsters ambition and drive and reminds the wearer of the future s goals, hence becoming a powerful tool in major decision-making.

It allows you to take control of your life and make decisions. It brings energy and fire, enhancing physical energy and personal power and invoking joy, laughter and warmth as it opens the heart. It provides a sense of history and a connection to past experiences.

Carnelian is one of the most helpful crystals for healing trauma, stress and emotional wounds that have accumulated in the etheric body or the Aura and are now manifesting as physical symptoms.

 
Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is generally associated with peace and tranquility as well as intuition, patience and unconditional love.  It is often thought to offer gentle and soothing qualities; it is believed to be a powerful source of life-force energy. 

Psychic impressions suggest that this stone is a master healer through emotion expression.  It is told to be quite useful to one for expressing those emotions which are fire based such as anger, fear, passion or excitement.

Chrysocolla has been known to raise the metabolism to assist in rectifying an imbalance or to help in losing weight.  Chrysocolla is known to promote level headedness, encouraging clarity of thought and a neutral, calm attitude during turbulence.
